Happy Endings
Many people want what they can't have. I am always hearing people say everything that they do not like about themselves and everything they would change if they had a magic wand. No one is ever perfectly happy with what they are given. In the short story titled, "Happy Endings" the young girl sees Shirley Temple and admires all that she is. She wants to be just like her with the blond curly hair and the white porcelain skin. She wants to look like her, act like her and be just like her. She thinks that if she is just like Shirley Temple her life would be so much better and she would finally attain happiness. This affects her sense of self because she will never be what she thinks is better than what she is. Rather than wanting what she cannot have she should be proud and thankful for how she was made. She will never be happy if she lives her life wanting to be someone else.

I also hear people complain that they are not someone famous, rich, or successful. If they complain all the time about what they want, then they are not even trying to fulfill they're dream. They're just being martyrs. You'll only end up a failure if you don't act. You talk the talk, but you gotta walk the walk in order for that talk to be effective.
ReplyDeletejob well done maddy! i wish had a cool magic wand... that would be fun! you really nailed the topic girl. awesome!
ReplyDeleteMaddy, I completely agree with the things you have to say. People never find what they want when there not satisfied with who they are and no one will ever be happy when their searching for something that they dont have. I believe that there is a lot of wisdom and truth in your blog, good job.
ReplyDeleteMaddy I also hear people say that of themselves. Whether it is about their hair, their style, their looks they seem unhappy. Trying to be this person they see on TV and thinking that it will bring them happiness like Lovey thinks. But the only thing they are doing is putting themselves down
