I agree with this quote. I do think that human beings will never settle for what they have or already possess. We are always wanting more. We are always doing selfish things in order to benefit ourselves, never thinking of the people on the other end who may be struggling due to our selfish ways. I like how she refers to humans as an “appetite,” how we are always in hunger mode rather than just being satisfied. Constantly seeing what we can do to improve our own lives and our own well being rather than that of others. I do believe there is a time to be selfish and a time where you can put yourself before others, but living every day like that is plainly unacceptable.
I enjoyed the book very much and even though I may not agree with the ending I think it was the right way for it to end. The ending was bitter sweet. Even though they did not actually end up getting out of the forest, they came to the realization that they were going to make it and be okay on their own. They had become apart of the forest and it was their new home and no one could take that away from them.

I completly agree with what you said about how everybody is selfish and wants what they don't already have. Thats what i was kind of getting to in my bog. I also agree with you about the book, i really enjoyed it but somethings in the end went a litte to far. Over all it was a good book.
ReplyDeletehave to say i agree as well. I can understand why you said what you did about people being selfish and not being selfish. I think to a point everyone has it inside of them. But that doesnt mean you need to be selfish all the time. I liked the book as well and like christina said it was a good book just taken a little to far at some points
ReplyDeleteI totally agree, no one is ever truly satisfied, and that's sad to think about. People are selfish and that's what causes fighting and wars, destruction. Relating to hunger was a great analogy because our eyes are bigger than our stomach and we take more than we can actually handle. I enjoyed the book as well.
ReplyDeleteyes, i agree with you that we as people are never happy with what we have we always want what we dont have
ReplyDeleteI agree with the points that you make about the quote. i liked how you said people hunger for more than are satisfied for what they have. also i think that the book was pretty good, but some stuff that happened seemed unbelievable that, like what they said, went too far.
ReplyDeletePeople get too caught up with things that don't even really matter. Everyone needs to find out what's real and what's fake. No wonder why so many people are unhappy. Society expects everyone to get rich and pretty like all hollywood and stuff but it doesn't even really matter in the end anyways. All we need is family, love, and good loyal friends.
ReplyDeletethis is well said. i think that this book is a great example of real life and how things could be.
